About 30 km north from Cagliari, 70 km from the conference venue, the new Sardinia Radio Telescope (SRT) is currently at the final stages of constructions. By the end of 2010 the state-of-the-art 64-m antenna will be opened for the scientific commissioning stage.

A visit to the SRT site is planned for Wednesday afternoon.
