PULSAR CONFERENCE 2010

If you are travelling by air, the closest airport to the conference site (C) is the Cagliari - Elmas airport (A), serviced also by several low-cost airlines. The main international italian airports connected with Cagliari are Milan Malpensa (MXP) and Rome Fiumicino (FCO). Alternatively you can reach Cagliari (B) by boat from Civiravecchia, near Rome (or from Napoli, Palermo and Trapani) with Tirrenia ferries.

To/from Cagliari (airport and harbour), the hotel arranges transport by car at a price of 92 euro (to be shared among 3 people at most), or by minibus at a price of 135 euro (to be shared among 8 people at most), one way. You can book your transport directly with the hotel or, if you want to share a car or minibus with other participants, you can communicate your flight schedules to the LOC (psr10@oa-cagliari.inaf.it) before September 10: we will try to fit as many people as possible in the same vehicle, considering a maximum waiting time of half an hour.

Alternatively you can reach the hotel with the ARST busses for about 10 euro one way. From the airport to the Cagliari bus station (near the harbour) there is a bus every half hour from 8:45 to midnight (click here for the complete timetable). Bus ride to Cagliari takes 10 minutes. You can buy the tickets (4 euro [doubled this month, sorry!]) at the automatic vending machine in the arrival hall or (but bus drivers discourage it) directly on-board. The bus stop is outside the arrival hall, close to the leftmost exit. From the bus station you then take a bus to Chia (baia), in the direction of Sant'Anna Arresi. The busses run approximately every hour from 6:30 to 19:35 (click here for the complete timetable). The ride to Chia takes about one and a half hour; the bus stop is across the road from the Chia Laguna Resort. Tickets must be purchased at the bus station's ticket counter inside the MacDonald's.
